Float Trip Float Trips are by far our most popular trips. Boating in Colorado Canyon Country is great, but imagine fishing your way downriver! However, even though one tends to concentrate on the great fishing, be sure to pause long enough between casts to take it all in to enjoy the scenery. For this reason, float trips are best experienced in a full day. The travel time to the river can vary and the best approach is to make sure that there is time to get to the best fishing. Half day float fishing is almost always on the Pumphouse to Radium section of the Colorado, while our full day trips have the option of multiple put in and take out locations. Boats are owned by the guides, they are either drift boats or fully framed rafts. The type of boat is often determined by the location you are going to fish or the guide. All anglers will appreciate the variety encountered throughout the float and you may see as many as 14 river miles on a full day trip. If you are a newbie to the sport, you will improve and hone your casting skills as they are repeated down the river. When fishing out of the boat the back cast is wide open and generally free from obstruction. In fact, float trips are a great way to learn the skill of casting. The float option also offers the chance to access areas that cannot be waded and are often not fished by other wade fisherman. While Colorado law prohibits wade access on private water without permission, it is perfectly legal to float through the water. Therefore a float trip gives you access to water that receives much less fishing pressure as you have access to places where wade fishing is not possible. We offer float trips on the following rivers: Colorado River, Roaring Fork River, and Arkansas River.

Prices do not include fishing license or flies. Price does not include a 5.25% parks usage fee that will be added to the total upon payment.
